It was a perfect mothers day - the weather was sunny and warm, people were out and about, smiles were the prevalent facial expression, and for New Yorkers, that's saying something!
It seemed like everyone (and their mother) was out at a brunch! Almost every outdoor cafe was packed, no one caring that they were practically eating in the street. (some of those sidewalks are small).
What would we do without brunch?! It's such a great way to have a long relaxing meal...
without feeling guilty. You start at breakfast time and continue through lunch. You have some eggs, some salad... it all works. I asked for a burger but for some reason mom had brunch at a vegetarian restaurant! I ended up with some seitan 'steak' and some green 'good for you' drink. It wasn't bad but it is going to definitely take some getting used to. I hope the flowers I got for mom remind her that I like 'real steak' though, and since it is practically time for dinner, I'll get to see momentarily how that plays out. Paws Crossed!
