I had the best July 4th ever! I got to go to New Jersey where I spent the day playing, eating, resting, decorating, greeting, resting, eating, watching fireworks, eating, dancing, resting, inspecting and finally sleeping. It was a full day and I enjoyed every moment of it. I do feel a little hung over from all the activity - and maybe just maybe I overate a bit, but it was worth it.
Grandma had all kinds of food around - my favorite was the turkey burger with cheese. I sat under the george foreman grill and tried to slurp up drippings as they cooked but Aunt Mimi kept sending me away.
And I got to see Tinkerbell. If you don't know the whole story, Tink was my first girlfriend. She is a little younger and lived across the way from Grandma. I used to see her almost every weekend and we grew close. She was a litte jealous when she heard about Ashela, but she got over that. But when our relationship became a bit long distance, we ran into some trouble. I think Tink resented that I was spending more time with Ashela, but that was because she lived right next door. I tried to visit more often but my schedule was pretty busy. I sent notes, treats, but it was a bit too much. We stopped seeing each other.
So when we got together yesterday it was a little tense, but then like all really good friends, you forgive each other and we got on quite swimmingly. Our relationship will never be the same, but I think we are on the right track. That feels good. And she didn't see when I got all tangled in the red white and blue decorations we were hanging up. I thought I was helping but all of a sudden I was wrapped in the stuff. I looked like an American Burrito! I laughed it off and continued to enjoy the day - Thanks America!
